Bay Sailing for Everyone

Bay Tours
A 4- to 6-hour Bay Tour is by far the best way to spend the day. Starting at South Beach Harbor mid-morning, we'll sail across the Central Bay & either head between Alcatraz and Angel Island or go through Raccoon Strait with Angel Island to port and Old Town Tiburon to starboard. We'll then reach across Richardson Bay to the Sausalito waterfront. Depending on the itinerary, we may motorsail through Richardson Bay to take advantage of the calmer waters and have some lunch.

If the current is in our favor, we can slip past Horseshoe Cove & sail under the Gate to enjoy the unspoiled scenery of the Marin Headlands.

Now we'll turn around & sail downwind past the city front. Proper etiquette dictates that we all wave and smile beatifically at the cold, wet sailors pounding upwind past us.

This part of the Bay Tour affords one of the great views of San Francisco. We'll sail past the Palace of Fine Arts, Aquatic Park, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and the Manhattan-like skyline of the Embarcadero.

At this point we may go over and get a close-up view of Alcatraz, then back towards the Bay Bridge and an easy, relatively warm sail back to South Beach.

Wine Tasting and Sunset Cruises
New for 2011, we're partnering with The Winery SF to offer you 2-for-1 tastings and 10% off wine purchases at their Treasure Island tasting room. Book a 4-hour sail with us and we'll make all the arrangements. We'll do a full tour of the Bay, then stop by The Winery on the way back to South Beach.

We also offer an evening wine tasting extravaganza for 4-6 guests. We proudly serve the latest releases of award winning chardonnays, pinot noirs and syrahs from Testarossa Vineyards in Los Gatos.

Join us for an evening sunset cruise & treat yourself to something special. We'll depart San Francisco about an hour and a half before sunset and get into position for what will hopefully be a glorious sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge and the headlands. Daylight Savings Time only (March through November).

Complimentary Hors d'oeuvres and Beverages
All of our Bay Tours and Sunset Sails include complimentary beer, wine, soft drinks and appetizers. Click on the image to enlarge.

Catering can also be arranged.

Introduction to Sailing Classes

Learning to sail is just the beginning!
Starting in April and running through early November, we offer a fun and informative "Introduction to Sailing" class on Tuesdays and Fridays each month. At the dock, we'll cover basic sailing terms, sailboat rigging, how sailboats work, points of sail and rules of the road. Then we'll get out on the water and you'll learn how to steer the boat, tacking, gybing, and basic sail trim. PFDs may be required and will be provided if you don’t have one.  Sailing gloves recommended. It's just $120.00 per person for 3 hours or so and satisfaction is guaranteed! Discounts and alternate weekday dates available for groups of 5-6.

If you're interested, check out our Sailing Fundamentals and Sailing Nomenclature handouts. They will give you an idea of what to expect and some basic knowledge of sailing so you can get the most out of your time on the water.

We also offer private instruction and clinics on anchoring, sail trim and close quarters maneuvering on your boat or ours. Call for information.

Most races require advance registration. Please contact us as early as possible if you're interested in such an opportunity. Rates are dependant on entry fees and are available upon request.

To me, nothing made by man is more beautiful than a sailboat under way in fine weather, and to be on that sailboat is to be as close to heaven as I expect to get.
It is unalloyed happiness.
